The most comfortable shoes I have ever owned. I wear 14 W and I have a hard time finding shoes that fit. I have purchased over 10 pairs of these shoes because due to a problem with my foot they the are the only shoes that I can wear. I climbed a 14,000 mountain in these shoes and hiked the back country for days without issue. The only area I would improve would be to offer them in more than just grey, blue and brown in a 14W. If you made more colors I would buy them all!

Comfortable right out of the box. My job takes me from the Board room to the outdoors. These are the perfect shoe for both those environments. Own three different styles of the XC4. Will definitely buy more in the future.

The foot surrounding sleeve is the downfall of this great looking show. The sleeve makes it difficult to slide the show on, you actually need a show horn to put it on comfortably! Unless you have a narrow foot, the sleeve is tight around the hind foot and ankle, which takes away from comfort. The footbed is very comfortable!
Please do yourself a favour, try before you buy!

Great shoes! I ordered them after noticing our optometrist wearing a pair. When I asked him, he said they were very comfortable especially considering he is on his feet a large portion of the day. I am very pleased! I got the navy suede.

This looks like a fantastic shoe and I eyed it for some time before buying. Unfortunately with the double insole, I needed to take out the second insole due to my arch size and the result was not comfortable. It also didn’t provide much support to my back. Pretty cool shoes though and definitely would have loved the waterproof feature.

I ordered a 9.5 medium. The 9.5 was just right but the medium was too narrow and hurt my pinkie toes. There’s a label that states that dual width so I took out the insole and it fits. But the bottom insole is stitched and no arch support. Why on earth would I pay so much for this shoe and lose the nice insole for a lat one. Why didn’t they make the nice insole the main insole. I don’t get it. I returned the shoe. I ordered a 10 medium and the shoe with the mesh hoping it would stretch and accommodate my width. While it did stretch a little it still felt tight. So after a 3rd try I’m returning this shoe.

Fit and size we’re spot on. Very comfortable to wear. I like the color and style of the shoes. Only complaint is getting them on. Shoe entry point has a somewhat flexible collar that must be stretched to get shoes on. I am in my 70’s and must use a shoehorn to accomplish this. Because of other medical problems this makes it difficult fo me. I would not buy another par of shoes constructed in this fashion.

I was looking for a gray fashion sneaker that I could wear for casual Friday as well as casual dinners out. These looked nice so I decided to buy them, and I am very happy with them. They are super comfortable, so ideal if you walk a lot but don’t want to wear athletic sneakers. The gray ones I have match best with medium or dark colored jeans. I also like the shoelaces aren’t very long, so they don’t dangle and touch the ground (I also tried some fashion sneakers from Hush Puppies, but their laces were obnoxiously long). The shoe is easy to put on, and fits true to size.
My wife didn’t care for the brown leather patch on the rear, but I think it adds some flavor. The shoes are advertised as waterproof, but I haven’t been brave enough to test out that claim. I don’t normally spend this much money on shoes, but I am happy with my purchase. I have a friend who coincidentally bought this same exact shoe, and he loves his as well.

This XC4 design shoes are the most confortable shoes I ever bought. I have knee problems and this Johnston & Murphy XC4 are the only shoes that makes me walk normal with without my knee pains. I wish they will make more styles including more casual styles of the XC4″S. I love this shoes!

They are true to their word. The Prentiss is comfortable and light. They only feel narrower due to the insert that hugs your foot, unlike most shoes that are the generic (for men) medium, D width. So, they are not tight or uncomfortable, just snug. These should be great on an 18 day trip to Italy and Greece (which is why I bought them). Not sure about the appropriateness of the grey color vs black or brown. The grey looks more like an athletic shoe.
