Was a little excited about this at first. After seeing it in store I am incredibly disappointed. This shoe just feels and looks cheap. The sole is weak, unsupportive, and just feels inexpensive. The insert is so thin it’s like walking on the ground. The leather is flimsy. Just don’t waste your time with this

I was stoked when I saw this in a J&M magazine at the end of Summer 2021. I tend to stick with conventional Chelsea boots, so this was a new style for me having a different sole on the bottom. The girlfriend thought they looked the best when I asked which she liked from the catalog, so I figured to get them. They were back ordered for about 2 months sadly, but I bought them and waited anyway. I was increasingly intrigued by the new TRUFOAM while I waited for them to come in. Once they finally did, I couldn’t believe it. They’re incredibly comfortable compared to a normal sole Chelsea boot. And they’re really quiet when walking. They don’t make that clanking boot sound. Style and fashion wise, these are a home run. I instantly got looks and "wows" at work as people admired them. They look so fresh. One of my coworkers wants a pair now. I highly recommend. This is my 4th J&M Chelsea boot and it easily wins in every way. I got the black ones.

This boot has been great for me. Comfortable and lightweight, I can wear it to work, around town assessing properties and through to happy hour and networking events. Looks great with jeans or khakis and is a great compromise between loafers and western boots.

I orig ordered the 10.5 . My foot is usually a 10.5. In this boot I settled on the size 10. It was the correct fit. I am very pleased with this product.

I ordered a half-size down from my sneaker size and they fit fine. A person w/ wide feet or high arches might need to go w/ the same size as sneakers. They’re very squishy inside and comfy enough, but not like a high-quality shoe with solid construction. Arch support, however, is okay. They look pretty good and are lightweight and easy to walk around in. But these really seem like very inexpensively-made, mass-produced boots and NOT remotely worth the $179 pricetag — for $20 to $40 more you can get Chelsea boots that are WAY better-made than these, with better leather, that will last many years longer. These J&M Barrett boots would be worth it at maybe $100, but not full price. Look around — there are many better-made Chelsea boots around. I got mine on sale for a bit over $100 and that seems fair enough. I can’t recommend them at the full $179 price, though, not when there are so many better choices for not much more money.

I have to say this is the first pair of boots that fit me perfectly. My foots are slightly wider which might be the reason leaving a little room in toe. No break-in needed. Cushioned footbed feels very comfortable. Easy to put on and off. True VIP service delivered in 1 1/2 days from Louisville to San Diego. I can tell it was delivered via the air shipment. To my good surprise is the color — camel brown which I prefer. Zappos web display color is off. I attached a picture to reflect the true color. Final note… Reading J&M history, no wonder so many US presidents worn J&M for a good reason.
